If you’ve ever wanted to be your own bartender, now’s your chance with the opening of a new Irish pub in Toronto that lets you pull your own pints of Guinness right at the table.
Gibbons Irish Pub is now open in Toronto, and it might be one of the most Irish pubs to open in Toronto yet.
It’s not just any other Irish pub – the bar comes complete with its very own snug, just like the real ones in Ireland, where you can cozy up in a private area, and also allows you to pour your own beer at special stations.
The snug is a semi-private area available for groups of more than six people, and the self-pour tables are available for eight or more people.
Gibbons Irish Pub also functions as something of a sports bar, with games playing on multiple screens pretty much every single night of the week.
The menu at Gibbons Irish Pub combines the traditional favourites of Irish bar food with some more contemporary classics to create a fun selection of dishes.
For example, nachos, quesadillas, wings, poutine, French onion soup, burgers and steak frites on the menu, but they’re balanced with some hearty Irish dishes that include fish and chips, bangers and mash, cottage pie, a ham and cheddar toastie and a Guinness sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
The new Irish pub is destined to become a party spot in Toronto, and not just because of the free-flowing self-poured beer. It was actually opened by the same team behind many other popular venues across the city and country.
Gibbons Irish Pub is run by MRG Hospitality, which is also behind other huge party venues in Toronto like Rock ‘N’ Horse Saloon, Par-Tee Putt, Dublin Calling, The Porch and Adelaide Hall. The hospitality group also operates venues in Vancouver, Ottawa, Victoria and Kelowna.
The MRG Group is actually Canada’s largest independent entertainment company, and in addition to running venues across the country, the group also covers live events, travel and digital media.
“An elevated pub without the fuss — just solid pours, honest food, and a welcoming room full of friends you haven’t met yet,” reads the official website for Gibbons Irish Pub. “Catch the game on one of our screens, cheer on your team, or settle in for a relaxed night out without the pretension.”
Gibbons Irish Pub is now open in Toronto at 26 Duncan St.
