New ‘potato bar’ restaurant in Mississauga offering free meals on opening day

Who doesn’t love a good potato? Fortunately, this new Mississauga restaurant has plenty of tasty-looking options to choose from.

Potato Bar, billing itself as the first of its kind in Canada, will open on September 3rd at 3525 Platinum Dr (near Eglinton/Ninth Line).

The menu features smoked potatoes loaded with toppings, including a buffalo chicken potato, Mexican fiesta potato, mac and cheese potato, Philly steak potato and more.

Customers can also “build their own potato” by choosing from a variety of protein options (chicken, beef, steak, sausage), salad toppings, and sauces. The restaurant says their offerings are Halal.

Sides include hand-cut fries and potato croquettes.

The restaurant plans to celebrate its grand opening by letting the first 50 customers eat for free, as well as free drink options.
