A popular Hawaiian poke bowl restaurant opens a second location in Mississauga.

Poke Poke’s new place is located at 720 Burnhamthorpe Rd. West unit 32A and celebrated a soft opening on June 15.

The restaurant features signature bowls such as the OG bowl, the Maui Maui bowl, the Wasabi Tako, and Ahi Volcano.

There is also the option to build your own bowl with over 20 toppings and garnishes to choose from.

Poke Poke said on their website that the poke bowl is an integral part of Hawaiian culture that they want to share.

“Our commitment to multicultural inclusion has been inspired by Hawaiian culture and after finding similar values in our Canadian community, we decided to plant roots in Canada,” Poke Poke said.

“Poke” (pronounced POH-keh) is a Hawaiian word that means “to slice or cut”. The dish consists of chunks of raw, marinated fish tossed over rice and topped with vegetables and umami-packed sauces.

The first restaurant Poke Poke opened is located in Scarborough at 3262 Midland Ave.

“We emphasize on bringing the best hospitality experience to each and every one of our guests,” Poke Poke said. “Our chefs take pride in serving only the freshest and highest quality sashimi to our customers.”
