Oakville will soon be home to some “award winning” Sarajevo style Chevapi and naturally smoked Bosnian Sudjuk.

Mrakovic Fine Foods, which provides specialized meat products from the Balkan region, will be opening a new location this spring located in the Dorval Crossing East centre at 200-240 North Service Rd. West.

Having fled the wars of the Balkan region in 1994, the Mrakovic family started selling smoked beef goods from their small apartment before opening Mrakovic Meat & Deli in Toronto in 2003.

From freshly baked pitas and smoked veal sausages to their massive Big Balkan Burger and smoked rib-eye, the shop says it uses traditional recipes to bring new, yet “very authentic,” taste experiences.

In 2019, Mrakovic won gold at the Ontario Finest Meat Competition for their fresh Chevapi.

“Our duty is to produce only the highest quality of meat that is delicious,” Mrakovic says on its website. “Halal and consistent with every bite. We started this business to share the traditions we have always known and loved.

“We only hope you love them as much as we enjoy making them.”

Customers will be able to grab something from the bakery or butcher or try something from the deli or takeout. Catering is also available.

Customers can also shop online for various products at mrakovic.com.
