A new pop-up in Hamilton is combining makeup, charcuterie, and bottomless mimosas to create a fun event that’s also educational.

Brushes and Bubbly creators Alyson Elisabeth and Shonna Forrest are offering an entire beauty workshop experience that includes food, drinks, and take-home goodies.

“We wanted to offer makeup lessons in a way that Hamilton hasn’t seen before,” explains Elisabeth. “As freelance makeup artists, we mostly work with wedding parties, and they’re always a blast. The girls are always really excited and the atmosphere is high-energy. So we wanted to create a similar experience through this pop-up.”

The duo from Hamilton have 15-plus years of experience combined in the beauty industry and are booked one to two years in advance for their services.

The first-ever Brushes and Bubbly event is scheduled for July 10 at The Studio Space inside Modern Design Studio at 215 Locke St. South from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $200 per person.

“Consider this a private beauty party where you and your friends can sit in a gorgeous studio space, sip on some bubbly, and snack your heart out from our grazing table,” says Elisabeth.

Each participant will be seated at their own workstation with a light-up mirror, where they can follow along with step-by-step instructions demonstrated on a live model.

Participants are required to bring their own makeup kit.

“We want them to feel confident doing their own makeup,” Elisabeth explains. “Each participant will receive a checklist of items that we recommend having once they register.”
