New gourmet donut shop comes to Mississauga

A gourmet donut shop that once operated at Square One has returned to Mississauga.
Donut Hive, which had its first location in the Food District at Square One, is now located at 724 Lakeshore Rd. E. in Port Credit.
Known for its unique creations that go beyond mass-produced baked goods, Donut Hive’s specialties include donuts that carry the themes of Spider-Man, PB&J (peanut butter and jam), crème brûlée, red velvet and caramel cheesecake, to name a few.
“In preparing our donuts, we paid particular attention to our carefully chosen high quality ingredients to offer you an exceptional flavour treat when enjoying our donuts,” reads a description of Donut Hive’s creations on the company’s website. “We prepare our jams with the best quality fruit without preservatives, flavour enhancers, artificial colours, or GMO’s (genetically modified organism).”
Even though the company has only been around since 2018, it has built up quite a history.
After the Square One location Donut Hive opened up a second store in the RBC Path in downtown Toronto and pop-up stores then appeared at two Pusateri locations and at Sak’s in Toronto.

In 2019 a store opened at Yorkdale Mall in Toronto but the pandemic slowed things down until the Yorkdale location took hold again last. A shop has since opened at Sherway Gardens.
The pandemic also led Donut Hive to offer a home delivery service where orders can be booked online.
The Mississauga location is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
