A massive, new entertainment complex opens this summer in Mississauga.

A first-of-its-kind concept, BRKFREE is a 25,000-square-foot, social entertainment experience that will feature 35 challenge rooms, food and licensed self-pour taps for the ultimate game night, according to a press release from BRKFREE.

The new spot is set to open this July at 1620 Tech Ave., Unit 4, in the Dixie Road and Eglinton Avenue area of Mississauga. The exact opening date has not yet been released.

Billing itself as a “cutting-edge social entertainment experience” the complex is designed with adults in mind and features 35 plus, high-tech challenge rooms where teams encounter physical, mental, and skill-based challenges.

There is also a restaurant with shareable eats, as well as a licensed “self-pour” tap wall that dispenses wine and craft beer.

This place is “definitely not another arcade or escape room concept,” the press release states.

It offers a curated series of immersive, live-action games, where teams have less than five minutes to conquer challenges against a countdown clock.

The immersive rooms have themes such as cliffhanger, submarine and heist – half the fun is navigating and figuring out each challenge.

“And no matter how many times you play, the experience is always different – new players, new dynamics, and a new set of goals,” the release states.

The games can be played with a team of two to four people. The group gets a special bracelet they use to enter the rooms that keeps track of the points they earn.

Players spend between three to five minutes in each room, attempting to get as many points as possible with an experience that emphasizes teamwork and problem-solving skills.

BRKFREE says the experience is perfect for team building, corporate events, date nights, get-togethers with friends, bachelor and bachelorette parties, family outings (participants under 14 require at least one accompanying adult), celebratory occasions, or just for the fun of it.

The new venture comes from Canadian entrepreneur and investor Caroline Irving who introduced Sky Zone to Canada.
