New electric car dealership opening up at Square One in Mississauga

A Vietnamese car manufacturer that specializes in cutting edge electric vehicles is about to launch in Canada and Mississauga’s Square One is going to be home to one of its flagship showrooms.

An exact date for the opening of VinFast’s showroom at Square One is yet to be determined, but posters outside its soon-to-be new home invite curiosity seekers to check the company out online.

The electric vehicle maker, which happens to be Vietnam’s first domestic car manufacturer, has seen astronomical growth on the homefront in the last several years.

A massive expansion into Europe and North America is planned for 2022 and when VinFast enters the Canadian market, it will offer two electric SUV models, with more models becoming available in the months following.

VinFast’s VF8 and VF9 are estimated to start hitting Canadian roads by the end of 2022, but Canadian pricing is yet to be released.

In the U.S., the VF8 starts at US$41,000 and the VF9 at $56,000.
