New clinic opening in downtown Oshawa in 2027

Two years after the Oshawa Clinic left its downtown location – where it had been for 76 years – a medical clinic is returning to downtown Oshawa, with the Priority Health Clinic set to open shop across the street from the ivy-adorned original clinic next February.

The new clinic will feature as many as 10 family physicians, an enhanced urgent care centre, IV infusion services, vaccine clinics, on-site specialists, diagnostic testing, an integrated pharmacy and an on-site medical laboratory.

The clinic will be at 96 King St. E., home of to D.G. Biddle & Associates consulting engineers for more than 50 years, with the two-storey building to be redeveloped into a medical clinic.

An application from the clinic owners for an increased assessment grant was on the floor of the city’s Economic and Development Services Committee Monday, with councillors agreeing to reduce the future tax burden in half for a nine-year period. The city will still realize more than $62,000 in taxes from the Priority Health Clinic over that period.

The clinic is scheduled to open in February 2027.
