New Chick-fil-A opening date set at Square One in Mississauga

After months of anticipation, Chick-fil-A will open a location in Mississauga.
In October, Chick-fil-A, one of the most popular chicken restaurants in the U.S., announced plans to open a location in Mississauga. A sign was posted on the location at Square One back in December.
And now finally, Chick-fil-A announced it will open the new restaurant on Thursday, Aug. 10, the restaurant said in a press release. The new spot is in Square One, 100 City Centre Dr. on level 1 inside Food Central.
The location is in the former Disney Store, which, closed in March 2021.
The menu includes a range of chicken sandwiches such as the Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, deluxe and grilled options.

The new Mississauga Chick-fil-A is the 11th in Canada. It will be locally owned and operated by Mufuti Sanusi, and employ approximately 90 to 95 full- and part-time staff members.
Sanusi, now a Mississauga resident, was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. She developed a passion for business and a strong work ethic through her mother and grandmother who led a family business.
She attended York University, and worked for a series of financial institutions before continuing her business studies at Loughborough School of Business and Economics in the United Kingdom where she earned an MBA.
Sanusi first visited a Chick-fil-A while travelling to Houston for a family birthday celebration.
“I tried the meal in the car and finished it before we got home,” she recalls. “I liked it so much that I affectionately started referring to Chick-fil-A as the ‘Good Food Company.’”
In honour of the new restaurant opening, Chick-fil-A will donate $25,000 U.S. to Second Harvest, Canada’s largest food rescue organization, to support local hunger-relief organizations.
And the restaurant will be participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and non-profits in need.
“My vision for Chick-fil-A Square One Shopping Centre is to serve the people of Mississauga with great food and impeccable service by being hospitable and showing care,” said Sanusi.
“I am passionate about leading with integrity, building trust and giving back to our community by establishing strong relationships inside and outside my restaurant. I am also looking forward to helping my team succeed and reach their goals through competitive wages, benefits and mentoring opportunities.”
The new Chick-fil-A in Square One will be open Thursday, Aug. 10 for dine-in and pick-up. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Chick-fil-A plans to expand in Canada, growing to a total of 20 stores by 2025. New restaurants are currently under construction in Oshawa and London, with construction expected to begin soon in Orillia and Ottawa.
