A proposal for a new Chick-fil-A restaurant with a drive-through is set for approval in Mississauga.

The fast food restaurant, known for its chicken sandwiches has opened two locations in the city, the first in Square One Shopping Centre in August 2023 and a second in Heartland Town Centre last year.

The newest spot is slated for Erin Mills Town Centre, 5100 Erin Mills Parkway. The proposal came forward in April and the drive-through requires approval from the City of Mississauga.

The Chick-fil-A proposed is a 486.25 square-metre, one-storey fast food restaurant with a drive-through at the northeast corner of Eglinton Avenue West and Metcalfe Avenue, in the same quadrant as the IHOP.

A portion of the site is occupied by an existing parking lot, while the remainder is vacant with little vegetation, a report to the city’s Planning and Development Committee states.

The owner revised the initial proposal to address issues raised by staff. The number of stacking lane spaces (spaces for waiting drive-through vehicles) was reduced, the drive-through was relocated and landscaping was added. A walkway was also added.

City planning staff recommend approving the proposal.

The proposal comes to the June 22 Planning and Development Committee meeting. For more information, see the meeting agenda and reports here.

It is not yet known when the new restaurant will be complete.
