There’s a new change for Bell customers that took effect in parts of Ontario on Thursday.
The company said that it has improved mobile network speeds by up to 65 per cent in certain areas with the launch of a new technology.
“The deployment of 3800 MHz spectrum in parts of southern Ontario is delivering Bell’s fastest mobile speeds yet while enhancing reliability and capacity, powering next-generation wireless experiences for consumers and businesses,” a news release said.
“This milestone complements Bell’s broader work to deploy 5G Advanced technology – bringing improved reliability, lower latency, even faster speeds and an expansive feature set to deliver an optimized and efficient network.”

Customers with compatible devices, which includes the latest phones from Apple, Samsung, and Google, can now use the faster speeds in 17 southern Ontario communities, the company said.
Those areas are: Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Vaughan, Markham, Oakville, Burlington, Oshawa, Whitby, Milton, Ajax, Pickering, Aurora, Halton Hills, Grimsby and Lincoln, Bell said.
The change brings “increased capacity, seamless connectivity and theoretical peak download speeds of up to 3.64 Gbps, better supporting HD video, immersive gaming and real-time collaboration on the go,” the company said.
Bell said the announcement builds on the company’s 2024 testing of the 3800 MHz spectrum in Toronto and Kitchener-Waterloo.
