There is new place in Mississauga to get between the bumpers while receiving pro tips on how to build and maintain strength.

On Sunday (March 13), Eastern Bloc Strength athletic performance gym will be holding a grand opening in its new space at 2355 Royal Windsor Dr., Unit 9 in Mississauga. The event, which is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., will include door prizes, fresh protein shakes for the first 100 visitors, facility tours and welcome gifts.

Eastern Bloc Strength is led by head coach and co-owner Marius Pop and co-founder Dr. Kal Khaled, who is a dentist in Mississauga. During his study of building strength, which includes over 15 years’ experience as a trainer in Canada, Pop has become coach with the Ontario Weightlifting Association and also earned certifications as a powerlifting coach, strength coach and CanFit Pro Trainer. A native of Romania, Pop is also a fascial abrasion technique practitioner and is certified in SWIS muscle testing, which is a valuable technique for assessing a certain muscle’s function.

“This gym reflects our vision about training,” Pop says on Eastern Bloc Strength’s website. I am excited to improve the lives of many more adults and develop powerful kids to become great athletes.”

Eastern Bloc Strength is offering classes in athletic development for kids, barbell fundamentals, strength and conditioning, sport performance for adults, and Olympic lifts (beginner, intermediate and advanced).
