More passenger planes are now taking off for the Netherlands from Pearson Airport in Mississauga thanks to the return of multiple weekly flights to the European nation.

Airport officials took to social media this week to announce that Canadian carrier Air Transat is once again offering two flights per week to Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands.

Service will increase to three weekly flights between the two points in late May and four flights per week in June.

With the spring travel season well under way and summer season just around the corner, Pearson Airport is offering those looking to get away for a vacation more options when it comes to destinations around the world.

Airport officials announced earlier this month that Air Transat had resumed nonstop weekly flights to Dublin, Ireland. The carrier will increase that service to six flights each week to Ireland’s capital starting in the summer.

If Italy is more your taste, Italian airline Neos began nonstop flights from Pearson to Milan the first week in April.

Closer to home, Edmonton-based Flair Airlines has resumed twice weekly flights to Victoria, B.C. from Pearson Airport.

In late March, Pearson announced additional flights to New York City and other U.S. destinations had been added while in early April it was announced flights were being added to various European destinations, including Denmark, Spain, Greece and Portugal.
