Air Canada is resuming weekly flights to Copenhagen.

Travellers looking to explore Denmark’s capital or those with family and friends there now have more flights from which to choose out of Pearson Airport in Mississauga.

Airport officials announced yesterday (April 3) that Air Canada has resumed its schedule of five weekly flights to Copenhagen, which with a population of about two million is also the northern European nation’s most populous city.

That service boost comes on the heels of an announcement last week that Canada’s flagship carrier is also increasing flights out of Pearson to Portugal, Spain and Greece.

Air Canada has started four weekly flights to Lisbon and Barcelona and three flights a week to Athens in time for spring and summer travel season.

In May, Air Canada will increase service yet again to all three of those European hot spots with the introduction of daily flights, Pearson officials say.

Pearson also announced last week that weekly flights to Terceira in the Azores, a string of beautiful islands located some 1,400 kilometres off the west coast of Portugal, began on March 28.

That service, courtesy of Azores Airlines, will increase to twice weekly in June.
