More than 90 per cent of Halton Catholic District School Board employees have attested that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The board updated its disclosure summary today (Oct. 20), in accordance with provincial regulations around transparency.

Of the 3,365 people who are considered employees, 3055 of them attested to being fully vaccinated, either with or without supporting documentation. Another seven said they were partially vaccinated.

Eight people provided a documented medical reason for not being vaccinated, 118 have not yet submitted an attestation form, and 177 said they’re neither vaccinated nor exempt.

The vaccination rate at the board is above the rate of the general population in Halton. According to Halton Public Health’s website, 87 per cent of residents are fully vaccinated and 84 are partially.

Among those frequently in schools or other setting who might have direct contact with staff or students, like visitors, volunteers, contractors, other professionals and bus drivers, more than 91 per cent are fully vaccinated (765 of 838). One person has a medical exemption, 40 have not yet submitted their status and 24 are not vaccinated.

The board will continue to update their numbers as the school year progresses.
