Two Mississauga schools are in hold and secure due to the sighting of a suspicious person and unconfirmed reports of gunshots, police say.

Peel police say officers received a call regarding a man walking around wearing a balaclava around 11:40 am on March 4.

Police say he was seen in the Turney and Hargood area.

Police say possible gunshots were reportedly heard in the area, but nothing was seen.

Tactical officers are in the area.

Streetsville Secondary School and Vista Heights are in hold and secure.

UPDATE: Police say one adult male is in custody. No injuries have been reported and the hold and secures have been lifted.
