Mississauga Man Charged With Attempted Carjacking

London police have charged a Mississauga man, following an attempted carjacking late Sunday night. 

Daeshawn Grant, 18, of Mississauga was charged after he and another male suspect allegedly approached a 24-year-old man sitting in his parked vehicle at the corner of Wonderland Road and Oxford Street West, at approximately 10:15 p.m.

Police allege the two attempted to rob the victim of his vehicle and demanded the driver exit by the driver’s side. After not complying, one of the men produced a handgun. The driver did not leave, and the two men fled in opposite directions. 

Police continue to search for the second male suspect. 

The accused has been charged with robbery/assault with intent to steal and attempting to commit dual procedure offence. He is expected to return to court tomorrow, Feb. 13, 2019.
