As the real estate market in Mississauga cools, selling a home for over the asking price is becoming less common.

Homes are going for closer to the asking price, and in some cases, significantly under asking. Earlier this month a home in the Fairview neighbourhood sold for $220,000 under asking, and a beautiful open-concept home sold for $300,000 under asking in May.

A home at 1337 Midgreen Lane in the East Credit area of Mississauga sold recently for $218,999 under the asking price. Listed for $1,899,999, this home sold after 13 days on the market for $1,681,000.

Perfect for a large family, this seven-bedroom home (two bedrooms in the basement) sits on a corner lot in the “high demand” East Credit community. Built in 1994, it’s a spacious 3,285 square feet.

The home has a separate entrance to the basement for a possible granny suite.

Described as a beautiful layout, the home has separated rooms — living, dining, kitchen, family room and office — straying from the popular open concept layout. But perhaps beneficial in pandemic times when family members need private space to work at home.

Upstairs, there are five bedrooms, two of which are large with ensuite bathrooms.

There is also a huge backyard with ample space for entertaining, and a two-car garage.
