Mississauga high-rise raid leads police to charge couple with gun crimes

A raid at a City Centre high-rise has brought various weapon charges against a Mississauga couple.

Investigators for the Peel Regional Police 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau executed a search warrant July 5 at a building in the area of Absolute Ave and Burnhamthorpe Rd. (the area where the Marilyn Monroe buildings are located)

As a result of the raid police found a .22 calibre handgun and ammunition.

Bianca Sodhi, 25, is charged with:

  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Careless use of firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Possess firearm with altered serial number

Darius Xavier Schott, a 22, is charged with:

  • Utter threats to cause death
  • Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm
  • Careless use of firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
  • Possess firearm with altered serial number
  • Possession of firearm contrary to order

Both appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton to answer to the charges.
