Mississauga City Centre gunfight leads to four arrests

An April gunfight near Mississauga’s City Centre has led to the arrest of four people after an intensive investigation by Peel Regional Police.
The altercation took place around 8:30 p.m. on April 27 near a restaurant at Mavis Rd. and Burnhamthorpe Rd.
Reports indicate two groups got into a fight and guns were pulled and shots were fired. There were no injuries and both groups fled the area.
The next day Peel’s 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested Jushaii Reid, 18, from Toronto and charged him with the following:
- Two counts of attempted murder
- Possession of a loaded and prohibited or restricted firearm
- Unauthorized possession of firearm
- Careless storage of firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of a prohibited device
- Discharge firearm with intent
- Possess firearm with altered serial number
- Carry concealed weapon
- Fail to comply with undertaking
- Carless storage of ammunition
- Two counts of possession of the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a controlled substance
Subsequently, on May 1 police arrested a woman from Courtice, Ontario who they believe assisted Reid. Daeja Burke, 19, is charged with:
- Accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence
- Attempted murder
- Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was firearm
Then, on June, police arrested Jamel Grennan, a 26-year-old man of no fixed address. He is charged with:
- Attempted murder
- Possession of a loaded and prohibited or restricted firearm
- Unauthorized possession of firearm
- Careless storage of firearm
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm
- Possession of a prohibited device
- Discharge firearm with intent
- Fail to comply with undertaking
- Three counts of possession contrary to prohibition order
- Two counts of possession of the purpose of trafficking
On June 12, police arrested a Toronto woman who they believe assisted Grennan.
Kedicia Trotman, 27, is charged with accessory after the fact to commit an indictable offence.
