Volunteers from a local organization called Faith United Milton recently came together to organize the collection of medical supplies and toiletries for the people of Ukraine.

The organization has operated for a total of 27 years and has provided medical supplies and toiletries for various vulnerable countries in the past.

Currently, the organization’s focus is on Ukraine and after doing a callout for supplies, the response was “overwhelming.”

According to the organization, in less than two weeks, the garage of volunteer, Mavis O’Neil, was “jam-packed” with donated items before a convoy of vehicles drove the goods to Stratford Mission Depot.

The items for donation included a wheelchair, nine pairs of crutches, several plastic boots, specialty wound dressings, syringes, pain medications, toiletries and more.
“Thanks to all for contributing to this urgent need. Goodness is still out there in the midst of the darkness,” read a post on the organization’s Facebook page.

The remaining items collected that have not yet been donated will go in the next donation to Ukraine or to other vulnerable countries.
