The Town of Milton has received an application from Clare Riepma of Riepma Consultants Inc., which is proposing a Plan of Subdivision and seeking an amendment to the zoning bylaw as a result.

This is being sought out to accommodate future industrial and employment development of the subject lands, which are located within the Milton 401 Industrial/Business Park Secondary Plan that are bounded by James Snow Parkway, Mount Pleasant Way and Dublin Line.

The application proposes consolidating several properties into three blocks for future development that are currently owned by the applicants.

It has also been made to rezone the subject lands from the current Future Development zone and General Industrial to a site-specific General Industrial zone.

The application notes that the applicant’s intention is to purchase the closed portion of Dublin Line and merge these into the Plan of Subdivision with the parcel on the west, once the land transfer is complete.

A full review of the planning policies will be undertaken as part of the application review, however, Town staff is satisfied that an Official Plan Amendment is not required based on the information provided.

Should the application be approved, the applicant will be required to receive Site Plan Approval before beginning any development.

This application is set to be discussed at an upcoming council meeting on Nov. 15.
