The Townsend Smith Foundation (TSF) recently hosted its fifth annual “Hike for Hospice” event, which raised over $20,000.
The hike took place at Milton Community Park, located at 805 Santa Maria Blvd. on May 7.
“Thank you so much to everybody who participated and donated to our 5th annual Hike for Hospice! With your support we were able to raise over $21,000! We are blown away by the generosity of the community! Amazing job!” wrote the foundation on Twitter.

The Townsend Smith Foundation is a charitable organization that has been working to build a hospice for North Halton as there are currently no hospice residences in Acton, Georgetown or Milton.
For many years, the foundation has been raising funds through events and donors to bring awareness to the need for a hospice in the community.
Recently, the foundation came to an agreement with the Hillcrest United Church to purchase the Church’s property and redevelop the site to build a community hospice facility with 10 beds, making them one step closer to bringing a hospice to North Halton.
