Men with ‘violent tendencies’ escape from Hamilton psychiatry unit: police

Raymond Mitchell and Caleb Lowry escaped from custody at the St. Joseph’s Forensic Psychiatry Unit.

Police in Hamilton are looking for two individuals “with violent tendencies” who escaped from custody at the St. Joseph’s Forensic Psychiatry Unit on Tuesday (Sept. 14).

Raymond Mitchell is a 31-year-old male, approximately 5-foot-8, with a heavy build. He is nearly 200-pounds with short brown hair and a moustache. Mitchell was last seen wearing a black jacket, navy sweatshirt, dark blue camouflage shorts, and blue shoes.

Caleb Lowry is described as a 5-foot-8, 338-pound male with a moustache and beard. He has tattoos on the right side of his neck and was last seen wearing a beige sweater, black pants, and black shoes.

Police say Raymond has ties to Toronto and Peterborough, while Caleb has ties to the Niagara Region.

“If you see them, please call 9-1-1 immediately and do not approach or attempt to communicate with him,” said a spokesperson for the Hamilton Police Service.
