Many homes without water due to large outage in Brampton

Crews are working to restore water service to homes in and around the Bramalea area of Brampton.

The outage was reported by Peel Public Works just after 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, with the region saying homes in a large area of Brampton were without water.

No exact number of homes and businesses has been released but the outages are being reported in the Bramalea area including on Mansfield Street, Madelaine Crescent and Melbourne Place.

Homes on both Crescent Hill Drive North and South as well as Madras Place are also impacted, along with just three properties on Dixie Road between Crescent Hill Drive South and Lascelles Boulevard.

Peel Public Works says it’s working to address the issue and have service restored to residents as soon as possible. The region didn’t say what caused the outage or give an estimated time when the water would come back on.
