Man punched repeatedly, hit with bat in late night altercation in Oakville

A late night altercation between two men at an Oakville residence resulted in one going to hospital with serious injuries.

Halton Police say they were notified at 2:30 a.m. on Thursday morning of an assault that had occurred at a residence in the area of Newcastle Crescent and Pine Glen Road, in Oakville.

A man arrived at the residence of the accused just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday night. An altercation between the two, who were known to each other, ensued and the accused is alleged to have repeatedly punched the victim and struck him with a baseball bat.

The victim left the residence and attended the hospital with serious injuries.

Police went to the residence of the accused and arrested the 51-year-old. Charges are pending.

Halton Police say they are not releasing the name of the accused involved in the assault investigation at this time.
