Man charged with second-degree murder after fatal Brampton shooting

Police have made an arrest following a shooting that killed a man in Brampton earlier this month.

Around 4:16 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, emergency services responded to a shooting in the area of Advance Boulevard and Alfred Kuehne Boulevard, near Dixie and Steeles.

“Upon arrival, officers located a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,” said police.

The victim, identified as 38 year old Alberto Suman-Ossa from Maple, was transported to a trauma centre where he succumbed to his injuries.

On Wednesday, June 29, police arrested 40 year old Toronto man Sheldon McFarlane, who is charged with second-degree murder.

He was held for a bail hearing and appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
