A man has been arrested in connection to a knifepoint convenience store robbery in Whitby months ago.

Durham Regional Police said a man walked into a convenience store near Dunlop St. and Brock St. back in February. Investigators allege he drew a knife on the clerk and demanded cigarettes and cash.

Once he’d gathered the goods, he fled the store on foot. The clerk was not hurt.

Months later, on May 5, police arrested Michael Carrol, 47, of no-fixed-address in connection with the crime. He faces several charges, including armed robbery, disguise with intent and possession of weapons.

He remains in custody until a bail hearing.
