Burlington seniors who have a low income can apply for the City’s property tax rebate program.

The City of Burlington’s Low-Income Seniors Property Tax Rebate program offers a $550 rebate to eligible seniors on their property taxes.

To be eligible, you or your spouse must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Be in receipt of the Guaranteed Income Supplement (pursuant to the Old Age Security Act)
  • Be the assessed owner as registered on title and occupant of the residential property in the City of Burlington for at least one year preceding the application
  • The property taxes must be paid in full, excluding the applicable rebate

Even if you’ve received this before, an application must be submitted every year.

Applications must be received by the City by Dec. 31.

The City offers a secure and convenient online application form for the Low-Income Seniors Property Tax Rebate. A PDF is also available.
