Two Mississauga men are facing weapons charges after a loaded semi-automatic handgun was seized by police during a raid at a city home last Friday.

Peel Regional Police say the Sept. 1 execution of a search warrant at the Mississauga home turned up an illegal, loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun and ammunition.

The raid was carried out by investigators and members of the Tactical and Aerial Support Unit.

Kadeem Lye, 31, and Thomas Guerrero Fajardo, 26, both of Mississauga, are each charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, careless storage of a firearm and possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.

Additionally, Lye is charged with possession of a firearm contrary to order.

Police say that at the time of his arrest, Lye was under a weapons prohibition order banning him from possessing firearms.

Both men will appear in Brampton court.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 905-453-2121, ext. 1133, or Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
