KFC is offering an extra incentive to the buyer of founder Colonel Sanders’ former Mississauga home.
Sanders and his wife Claudia, owned the home at 1337 Melton Dr. in Mississauga from 1965 until his death in a Louisville, Kentucky hospital in 1980. The couple lived in the home part of the year while Sanders continued to travel across North America.
The bungalow, near Dixie Road and The Queensway, was listed for sale at the end of May.
As of June 20, it hadn’t sold, and now KFC is sweetening the deal.

A KFC video posted on social media features a Colonel Sanders lookalike standing in front of the Mississauga home.
“My former house is for sale,” Sanders says. “And if owning a piece of history isn’t incentive enough, I’m giving away a year’s supply of KFC to whoever buys it.”
The funny video, below, shows the Colonel inside the home, stopping house hunters from looking inside kitchen cupboards, likely because the KFC “secret recipe” is inside. Another clip shows a man looking in a closet and finding the Colonel’s iconic white suit.
“Selling a piece of history,” listing realtor Jaclyn Stephanie Deme of Meta Realty Inc. said on Instagram, re-posting the video.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is listed for $1,499,999. The four-level side split offers over 2,000 square feet of finished living space.

Home features include an open-concept kitchen, a main-floor primary bedroom with an ensuite bathroom (with skylight and heated flooring), and a large recreation room in the basement.
The home has changed since Sanders lived there. An addition to the home was completed in 2014, partially designed by Jane Lockhart.
Upgrades include carpet-free interior, central vacuum, a backup generator, electrical sliding back doors and two fireplaces, the listing notes.
