Friday’s forecast calls for showers, thunderstorms and a high that could feel hotter than 40 C in southern Ontario.
Environment Canada says the morning will bring a mix of sun and cloudy conditions with a 40 per cent to 60 per cent chance of showers and a risk of thunderstorms to Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa and the Niagara Falls area.
The daytime high will be around 32 C, but could feel as warm as 43 C in Mississauga. The UV index will be 9 or “very high,” the weather agency says.
Friday night is expected to bring more showers with a 60 per cent chance in Mississauga and a risk of thunderstorms.
The overnight low will be around 20 C, the weather agency says.
Looking ahead to the weekend weather, southern Ontario can expect a reprieve after days of extreme heat. Saturday will be sunny with a high of 29 C, while Sunday should see a return to more seasonable temperatures with a high of 26 C and a mix of sun and clouds.
