They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and Mississauga has some good all day breakfast joints to choose from.

You can satisfy that just-rolled-out-of-bed hunger pain and craving for just about any breakfast dish at one of these breakfast joints.

Here are the top 5 all day breakfast places in Mississauga:

5 – Orchard Family Restaurant

Orchard Family Restaurant is a local Mississauga landmark that has been around before Mississauga was even a city and very popular with the locals. It is your typical greasy spoon diner that is quick and cheap, except on Sundays when the line-ups can extend out the front door. It almost feels like you stepped into the past into “Mel’s Diner” with its diner style layout and gum-chomping fixtures, aka waitresses. You can rely on this greasy spoon for all your quick and dirty favourites like bacon and eggs, and sausages and pancakes. If you are looking for a healthy breakfast dish, keep looking because you won’t find that here. A great cure for a hangover at a very reasonable price – and the portions are a hefty size.

4 – Skyway Jacks

Skyway Jacks claims to be “Home of the Healthy Portion” and I concur! It’s the place to be if you’re hungry and you don’t want to break the bank, and it’s definitely one of the best all-day breakie joints located in an inconspicuous plaza in Streetsville. Interestingly, Skyway enforces an ordering procedure similar to Seinfeld’s infamous “Soup Nazi”- the 116th episode (Season 7, Episode 6), minus the fiercely stern look and army style yelling. At Skyway’s you go through a similar regimen for placing an order (line up, place your order, pay for your order, and lastly take a seat) but instead you are greeted by a friendly face and you can dine in.  If you are super hungry, get the “Super Jack”, especially for that super hangover. It comes with 3 eggs, 3 pieces of bacon, 3 sausages, 2 slices of Peameal bacon, breakfast potatoes and toast. Skyway is an eclectic local favorite with character, the staff – super friendly and my coffee mug was never empty. It gets pretty busy at Skyway’s so if you time your drive there right, you will miss the senior morning rush, the regular morning rush, the church goers, and the hangover rush. Even with a wait, it’s well worth it once you dig in.

3 – Zet’s Restaurant

The first thought to my mind when seeing Zet’s and it’s ‘Open 24 HR’ sign is to keep driving. The exterior definitely doesn’t do this greasy spoon any justice but with over 45 years under it’s belt, this family run business must be doing something right. Located on Dixon Rd. right by Mississauga’s airport, this spot has a loyal following of diners from local businesses and airport staff. Zet’s predominant meat menu has Souvlaki, charbroiled burgers, chicken, peameal sandwiches, gyros and is also known for their all day breakfast. The $7.95 breakfast special comes with 2 eggs, a choice of bacon, ham or sausage, home fries and toast but if you’re really hungry you can opt for the 10oz. New York Steak & Eggs. You will also find a Polish sausage and egg breakfast as well as a peameal bacon and egg sandwich and a number of other options.

2 – Captain Robin’s

Located in the heart of Port Credit beside the corner Starbucks is Captain Robin’s (formery the Three Stooges Family Restaurant). If breakfast of gigantic portions are your thing, then this place is for you. Captain Robin’s has all the classic breakfast dishes with fun local names like the “Port Credit Breakfast Platter” which consists of 2 pancakes, 4 large eggs, a double serving of their famous hash browns and Texas toast. The Country Style Skillet comes with their famous hash browns, bacon, ham, sausage and back bacon that is topped with scrambled eggs, a blend of mozzarella and cheddar cheese, and smothered in hollandaise sauce. The carmelized onions intertwined with the shoe string like hashbrowns makes them one of the best in the city.

1 – Bobby’s Hideaway

With dishes like the 1/2 pounder, Big Bobby, Weekender (as seen in the cover shot) and Steak & Eggs, you can count on Bobby’s Hideaway to offer meaty, full-sized breakfast meals that are rich in protein, along with all of the heavy carbohydrates to match it. On a slightly lighter note, Bobby’s also offers omelettes, egg’s Benny’s, waffles, and pancakes. They also have 13 interesting side plate options such as peameal bacon, and spicy italian sausage. Voted Streetsville’s most popular breakfast restaurant for 5 years, this local hotspot serves up great family recipes. Sundays are a mad mess of church-goers and locals, so be sure to wake up extra early to avoid line ups. Bobby’s has a north location in Streetsville and a south location in Lakeview in Mississauga.
