Spring is here and farmers markets are back in Mississauga.

The city has several markets from small, local markets, with a few growers and vendors to larger markets with dozens of vendors selling more than produce.

By supporting these markets, you’re also supporting your community – helping with local sustainability efforts, supporting local, which helps growers and vendors and encourages urban agriculture initiatives, the City of Mississauga says.

Here is a list of Mississauga’s farmers markets:

Erin Mills Farmers Market

This market opens Thursday, June 15 and runs every Thursday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 2520 Eglinton Ave. W. at Erin Mills Parkway, across the street at the base of the Daniels Arc building.

Find fresh, local and cultural food here in a friendly community space. The market brings farmers, bakers, food producers and food educators to Mississauga.

Free one-hour underground parking is available when you shop at the market. Bring the receipt portion of the parking stub to the market staff.

Lions Farmers Market

Mississauga Central Lions Club hosts two farmers markets in the city. The Mississauga Celebration Square Market (located in front of Mississauga Civic Centre) opens Wednesday, June 7 and runs Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Robert Speck Parkway location (in the parking lot adjacent to Shipp Drive) opens June 11 and runs Sundays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lakeview Farmers Market

This popular market opens Sunday, May 28 and runs Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Small Arms Inspection Building at 1352 Lakeshore Rd. E. (at Dixie Road).

This market features local, sustainable, organic, and artisan products, which provide an important source of income for local farmers, growers, producers and artisans. Stop by on Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There is parking next to the Small Arms Inspection Building.

Port Credit Farmers Market

Beginning Saturday, June 3, this market runs on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at the corner of Lakeshore Road East and Elmwood Avenue (two blocks east of Hurontario Street). The market runs until Oct. 7.

Enjoy a great selection of fresh produce, cheese, eggs, baked goods, food and beverage, artisans and live music.

Streetsville Summer Market

This market runs on Saturdays from July 8 until Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

It is located in the heart of Streetsville, at Queen St. S and Main St. and features farmers, artisans, crafters, unique food vendors and more.

In 2022 the City of Mississauga council approved the Urban Agriculture Strategy. Through this strategy the city will encourage healthier lifestyles; support communities’ existing skills related to growing and harvesting produce; empower communities in learning new skills; improve food security; and support local businesses.
