‘I smoke a lot, you would be surprised’: Driver charged after police seize 8 kilograms of cannabis in Mississauga

A driver who was recently stopped by police in Mississauga is now facing multiple cannabis-related charges.

Mississauga OPP conducted a RIDE check on a driver in the area of Highway 403 and Mavis Road on Saturday evening (Nov. 20), which led to police searching the vehicle.

Officers allegedly seized eight kilograms of cannabis and $8,265 in cash.

According to police, “I smoke a lot, you would be surprised!” was the excuse offered by the driver.

The driver, who has not been identified, is charged with possession for the purpose of distribution, possession of illicit cannabis, possession of cannabis over 30 grams, possession of proceeds of crime over $5000, and cannabis readily available.
