Huge movie theatre and entertainment complex opens in Mississauga

A huge new movie theatre and entertainment complex — the first of its kind in Ontario — is finally opening in Mississauga
Anticipated for several months, the Cineplex Junxion Erin Mills in Erin Mills Town Centre, 5100 Erin Mills Pkwy., opens at 3 p.m. on Wednesday (May 17).
The 45,000-square-foot complex offers movies in six theatres, video games, dining, a bar and live performances all in one space.
This is the first Junxion location in Ontario and the second in Canada — Cineplex Junxion Kildonan in Winnipeg opened in December 2022.
Cineplex chose this location in Mississauga because of the residential development in the area and the lack of entertainment options, Robert Gosek, executive director for the GTA Cineplex operations told insauga.com.
“There is so much development happening — it’s a perfect fit,” Gosek said.

When you enter Junxion, there is the gaming centre, restaurant, licensed bar and a live entertainment space. There are plans for solo performers and DJs on the weekends but they will also play sporting events on the big screen televisions.
There are 100 gaming stations for people to play games such as Fast and Furious, Pac Man Battle Royale Chompionship, Emoji Roller, Wicked Tuna 4 Player, Asphalt 9: Legends (players get behind the wheel of high-end supercars and race to be the best in this immersive 5D racing simulator) and many more.
Customers purchase a card and load credits. $10 buys you 40 credits and games are five to 10 credits. Game points can be traded in for prizes.
The restaurant has 170 seats and the menu at the counter, called Bites, includes sandwiches, poutine, burgers and pizza. And there are the traditional movie concessions, including popcorn, as well as candy and soft drinks.
The licensed bar serves wine, beer and cocktails including the Sweet Xscape and Peach X Passion Mimosa.
This space is 10,000 square feet, and people are welcome to come in during opening hours to play games and grab a bite. There is no entry fee and you don’t have to see a movie.
There are six theatres with 789 total capacity (763 seats plus wheelchair accessibility). All are comfy recliner seats with side tables for drinks and snacks.
The largest theatre is an UltraAVX 3D auditorium with 270 capacity and 19 D-BOX seats (immersive seats that move with the action on screen).
Movie tickets are $14.50 for adults and $9.50 for children. Seniors are $10.50
Junxion received over 1,000 job applicants. Currently, there are 120 new jobs for the community (five full-time, 115 part-time), including many first job opportunities for young employees.
