Amazon Prime Day has kicked off and this year, there is a big change.

For the first time, the shopping event is happening over four days, Amazon said.

It began at 12:01 a.m. PT (3:01 a.m. ET) on Tuesday and will run until July 11.

“During Prime Day, Prime members will enjoy deep discounts on items from top brands like Samsung, adidas, Levi’s, L’Oréal, Clinique, and LEGO,” Amazon said.

“Members can also shop products from Canadian brands featured in the Canada Showcase storefront and from small businesses from coast to coast, including brands like grace & stella, Organika, Jamieson, and Kidamento.”

The company said that this year, Prime and Aeroplan members who shop through the Aeroplan eStore during the Prime Day event can earn up to 10x the points and a chance to win one million Aeroplan points.

“Additionally, all purchases over $20 (including Prime Video transactions) until July 11 will give Prime members an entry to Giftmania: Checkout Champions, for a chance to win prizes ranging from trips and sports tickets to cruises and products from top brands,” Amazon said.

Prime memberships cost $9.99 per month or $99 per year. Those aged 19 to 24, as well as college and university students of any age, can get a six-month trial and then pay $4.99 per month or $49 per year.

There are more than 200 million paid Prime members throughout the world.
