Homes in Brampton, Mississauga and Oshawa make list of most affordable homes in Ontario

Looking for a detached home under $1 million in the GTA? It’s not impossible.

Acquiring a place to live in the GTA can be tricky, as the selection of apartments, condos and houses can vary in quality and price. That said, real estate experts at Zoocasa tracked down the most affordable detached homes dotted throughout southern Ontario, so you don’t have to. 

While the state of home ownership in the province has been a rollercoaster, according to the data, Oshawa is proving to be a haven for affordability as several listed houses are located in the region. 

These include: 

321 Albert Street – $699,000

This detached house offers three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a finished basement with a bedroom and modern upgrades.

1538 Norwill Cres – $749,888

This renovated house boasts three bedrooms, three bathrooms, hardwood floors and a finished basement with acoustic soundproof walls and ceilings.

337 Division St – $599,900

This three-bedroom, one-bathroom home boasts a polished and unique interior, a detached garage, original hardwood flooring and a partially finished basement.

95 Richmond St. W. – $549,000

This three-bedroom, one-bathroom home boasts a renovated and upgraded interior, a sleek kitchen with high-end appliances and a spacious primary bedroom with a walk-in closet.

While Oshawa may be paving the way for affordable living in the GTA, there are still numerous other contenders throughout the region, such as several spots in Toronto-proper that go for anywhere from $699,000 to $849,000. 

Zoocasa also mentioned two homes in Peel–one in Brampton and one in Mississauga.

606 Galloway Cres. in Mississauga – $988,000

The house boasts three bedrooms, two bathrooms, upgrades and proximity to Square One and other City Centre-area amenities.51 Weybridge Tr. in Brampton – $888,000

This home, which boasts up to 2,000 square feet of space, offers four bedrooms, four bathrooms, an open-concept layout, sliding glass doors and more.

While the market in the province may still not be as forgiving as some may hope, things may be looking up for some Ontarians — just maybe only the ones in Oshawa.
