Police are investigating an early morning fire at the same home as a November 2024 murder.
Oshawa Fire and police responded to a fire call at Eulalie Avenue near Huron Street just after 5 a.m. Wednesday. There were no occupants in the residence and no physical injuries were reported.
An Oshawa man was charged with second-degree murder after his wife was stabbed to death at the same location on November 12, 2024. Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at the home and discovered a woman with “traumatic” injuries. Parween Adel, 48, was taken to a Toronto trauma centre where she was pronounced dead.
Her husband, Hakim Adel, 41, was taken into custody and charged in her death.
Oshawa Fire Services attended the fire scene Wednesday morning and deemed the cause of the fire “undetermined” but police are trying to find a link to the November murder.
The investigation remains ongoing and investigators say they are examining “all avenues” but have not yet established a connection between the fire and the homicide.
