Another home has sold for a huge loss in Brampton.
Those who bought homes at extremely high prices in early 2022 in Ontario are now selling at much lower prices.
In Brampton, a home recently sold for a $469,000 loss, and a Mississauga home sold for a $700,000 loss in July. A cottage purchased for $1.9 million sold at a 45 per cent loss.
The latest example is another Brampton home that recently sold for a price near 2020 rates.
The three-bedroom home at 37 Meadowland Dr. was purchased in February 2022 for $1,315,000, according to online real estate records.
It went on the market again in March 2025 for $999,900. It was re-listed a few times and the list price was knocked down to $815,000 in May and $790,000 in July.
The place finally sold for $760,000 in August. This is nearly the same as the 2020 price of $756,200.
“This dated semi-detached was sold in 2022 for more than $300,000 over asking,” real estate commentator Shazi Goalie said on X. “After 4 desperate attempts to sell it this year, the owners finally capitulate to a whopping 42% loss at $555,000. This price is almost identical to the price in 2020.”
The raised bungalow near Gage Park has a self-contained, large basement apartment with a separate entrance.
The backyard has a hot tub connection, a concrete porch, a gazebo with a shingled roof and several fruit trees.
