Even the home of a Blue Jays star player couldn’t come out ahead in Toronto’s weak real estate market.
The Lawrence Park home of George Springer and his wife, Charlise, sold for a loss last month.
Springer signed a six-year contract with the Blue Jays in January 2021 and has been a cornerstone of the club’s recent postseason runs. His Game 7 home run sent the Blue Jays to the 2025 World Series for the first time since 1993.
The home at 68 Dawlish Ave., a 5,300-plus-square-foot Georgian Colonial, was listed in April for $6,445,000 with Jason Fata and Krystle Fata of Sage Real Estate, a Leverage Global Partner brokerage.
The place sold for $6,000,000 at the end of May, according to online real estate records. It had been previously purchased for $6,430,000 in January 2022.
It is one of many homes purchased at peak high prices in 2022 that have sold at a loss in recent years. A home in Toronto’s Sherwood Park neighbourhood sold at a whopping $1,650,000 loss in February.
Renovated in 2019, the Springer home was designed by Mazen Studio. It features four-plus-one bedrooms, six bathrooms, custom millwork and wainscoting throughout, coffered ceilings and designer lighting.
A designer kitchen comes with marble counters, a marble backsplash, gallery-like shelving and tailored cabinetry.

The primary bedroom boasts vaulted ceilings, over 12 feet high, a carved marble fireplace, a reading corner, an ensuite bathroom and a large custom dressing room.
