Home featured in Adam Sandler movie listed for sale in Mississauga

A home featured in movies and television shows is now for sale in Mississauga.

The Lorne Park house at 1287 Birchview Dr. is listed for $5.5 million.

The home was featured in the 2023 Adam Sandler movie, You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, and is visible in the trailer (see below). The movie, available on Netflix, was also filmed in Oakville.

The home is in the second season of the Netflix series Fubar with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam McDadi of Sam McDadi Real Estate Inc. told INsauga.com. It was also used in the 2022 musical-comedy Sneakerella, British heist television show Culprits, and Netflix series Locke & Key, McDadi said.

As a filming location, it earned over $100,000 in its peak year.

Neighbours particularly remember Adam Sandler’s visit to the community as he brought in ice cream trucks and posed for photos with area residents, McDadi said.

“He is just a good guy, so just happy to take selfies with everyone, just a nice person,” said McDadi.

Sandler was spotted at the Canada Day parade in Mississauga during filming in 2022.

One of the homeowners had a connection to the film industry and once one production filmed there, others came, he said.

“I think once they had some productions or films filmed out at the house, because of the uniqueness, the modernist look, I think a lot of people were kind of gravitating towards reaching out and using that as one of the location sites,” McDadi said.

Now that it is on filmmakers’ radar, it is possible other productions may reach out.

Built around 2010, the home was one of the first modern houses in the area at the time.

“That was a little bit ahead of the time; people weren’t ready for modern back then,” McDadi said.

The current family has enjoyed the home for nearly 15 years but have decided to move on, he said.

The place has a lot to offer.

“The high ceilings, the modern look. It’s got an incredible state-of-the-art gym. So a lot of really, really compelling features there,” McDadi said.

There are multiple gas fireplaces, a Sonos-integrated sound system and Lutron-controlled lighting.

The primary bedroom is on the main level and comes with a walk-in closet and five-piece ensuite bathroom.

On the upper level, there are three more bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom.

Outside, the owners invested $500,000 to create an entertainment space including a pool with sun ledge, an eight-person hot tub, an outdoor kitchen, a cabana, a Dekka concrete fire bowl and twin Napoleon fire torches.
