Highway closure in effect due to collision, police investigation in Clarington

An ongoing incident is causing traffic delays in Clarington this afternoon (Jan. 9).

Highway 115 southbound ramp to westbound Highway 401 is currently blocked due to a joint investigation between OPP and Durham police.

Early reports indicate that a police pursuit resulted in a truck driving into the ditch.

Injuries are unconfirmed at this time.

The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is being notified.

Police expect the closure to remain in place for several hours.
