The leaves have started to change colour in parts of Ontario.
As of Sept. 19, Algonquin Park and surrounding areas are seeing some leaves turning.
Algonquin Park’s sugar maple forest is showing yellow-green-orange colour hinting at the best colours coming in the days ahead, the Friends of Algonquin Park said on their website.
“This weekend (September 20-21, 2025) should offer some good early-season fall colour viewing,” the fall colour report stated.
The best colours will be from the West Gate to the Algonquin Art Centre.
Tourism organization, Discover Muskoka, reported very small pockets of colour in Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Huntsville and Georgian Bay as of Sept. 18. Lake of Bays hand Muskoka Lakes had slightly more colour.
Early fall colour viewing in Muskoka is typically from Sept. 21 to 27. Peak maple fall colour viewing is usually from Sept. 28 to Oct. 9.
Areas in southern Ontario usually see fall colours around Thanksgiving weekend.
Ontario Parks is reporting near peak colours at Oxtongue River-Ragged Falls and Arrowhead parks.
