It’s officially November, and you know what that means?

That it’s perfectly acceptable to start talking all things Christmas and holiday season-related (in fact, I saw a Christmasy Swiss Chalet commercial today).

If you plan on indulging in festive activities, you might want to start preparing for the upcoming Streetsville Santa Claus Parade.

The parade, scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 25 at 1:00 p.m., will take over the village-in-the-city’s downtown area.

According to the City of Mississauga, the 2018 parade will begin at Queen St. S. and Ontario St., at 1:00 p.m. and proceed south on Queen St. S., ending at Church St.

Staging will occur on Church St.

The city says this year’s parade will feature a number of marching bands, including Streetsville Pipes & Drums, Top Hat Marching Orchestra, Rameses Shrine Drum Corps, Tian Guo Marching Band, 800 Black Forest Squadron band, ICON Percussion, 105 Streetsville Army Cadets band, and the 820 Chris Hadfield Squadron band.

In addition, the parade will feature the Raptors 905 mascot and dancers, Mr. Peanut, Silver Elvis, the Bread & Honey mascot and float, Niagara Shrine Club’s Maid of the Mist float and Misty tugboat float, Peel Shrine Club go karts, local school / community group entries and floats, Frosty the Snowman, Mrs. Claus and, of course, Santa Claus himself.

If you feel like getting into the Christmas spirit before the Parade begins, you can head to the Streetsville Village Square to listen to some Christmas tunes, spun by Stoo-ie, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

The Beaver Tails and Prince Edwards Fries food trucks will be serving up some food at the Square until 1:00 p.m. as well

The Streetsville Lions Club will also serving up some BBQ fare on Pearl St.
