Here are the most popular Halloween costumes in Mississauga

Halloween is less than two weeks away and time is running out to get the best costume.
Shoppers are already flocking to the Value Village at Dundas and Dixie Road in Mississauga, says store manager Donna O’Beirn.
“It’s our busiest time of year,” she says.
Typically retail stores are busiest at Christmas but for Value Village, Halloween is peak season. And O’Beirn says the store is nearly returning to pre-COVID levels business for Halloween.
“A lot more people talking about attending events, parties, bars, all that sort of stuff,” she says.
Many outfits are selling but there are still options, even for people buying at the last minute.

“The whole store is a costume so we really can find something,” she says.

The store no longer sells longer sell pre-packaged costumes but there are plenty of options. One of the most popular for kids is a fairy princess — people are buying tutus and crowns.
“I think because it’s super easy to put new accessories together with secondhand items,” she said.
Kids are also looking for superheroes from the Marvel series, and Harry Potter costumes, she said.

For adults, they are getting a lot of requests for horror costumes, possibly driven by the new Scream movie. People are also looking for overalls to make a Chucky costume.
“Definitely more adults are looking for those types of horror costumes.”
The Eleven costume from Stranger Things is popular this year.
Party City is also a popular spot to find costumes and a spokesperson for the Mississauga Party City says the hottest costumes this year include Catwoman, Batman, Thor, as well as the Mandalorian for kids.

“Stranger Things is also big amongst kids and adults alike – particularly the Lucas and Eleven characters,” they say.
Another option for costumes is the pop-up shop Spirit Halloween, which has a few locations in the city.
