Heavy police presence after morning assault in Mississauga apartment building

Police are investigating a morning assault inside a Mississauga apartment building Wednesday (Sept. 9).

The incident occurred in the area of Duke of York Blvd and Webb Dr.

The Peel Regional Police Tactical and Rescue and K9 Units are part of a heavy police presence as the incident was initially reported as a shooting.

The victim was transported to hospital with “non-life-threatening” injuries.

The suspects fled, according to police. No descriptions were made available as of 8:20 a.m. Wednesday.
