‘He belongs in jail’: Brampton mayor unloads on driver who killed mother and children

However, Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown tweeted late Thursday (June 18) that the driver of the other vehicle was a 20-year-old man driving with a prohibited license “for multiple driving offenses”.
Brown added that the man had plated that didn’t match his vehicle.
“He only has a broken leg but his victims have had their lives stolen. This is criminal negligence causing death. He belongs in jail,” concluded Brown.

At approximately 12 p.m. today (June 18), a Peel Regional Police officer was pursuing a vehicle travelling eastbound on Countryside Drive when it collided with a van at the intersection of Countryside and Torbram Road.
A 37-year-old mother and her three daughters, ages six, four, and one were all killed as a result of the crash.
The other driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Four investigators, three forensic investigators and one collision reconstructionist have been assigned to the case.
The SIU is seeking anyone who witnesses to contact them at 1-800-787-8529. Additionally, anyone with dash-cam footage of the collision is urged to turn over a copy to the SIU via their website.
