Have baseball bat, hammer, will rob – teenagers charged with armed robbery in Oshawa

A pack of teenagers, armed with a bat and a hammer and ill intent, are facing armed robbery charges after a man was robbed in Oshawa Saturday, with police saying the suspects returned to the scene armed with the weapons to have a second round with the victim.
Durham Police responded to a robbery-in-progress at an apartment complex at Grenfell Street and Gibb Street (near the Oshawa Centre) at 5:25 p.m. Saturday. The victim had made arrangements to meet with one of the youths but police say he was robbed of his phone and other personal items instead.
The victim managed to escape and called 911 from outside the building. While waiting for the arrival of police the group returned and made threats to the victim.
When the officers arrived the suspects tried to flee but were quickly rounded up without incident.
The victim sustained minor injuries.

Connor Harrison, a 19-year-old from Whitby, is the only suspect over 18 and therefore the only name declared by police. Harrison is charged with robbery, possession of dangerous weapons and uttering threats.
A 17-year-old girl from Kawartha Lakes is charged with robbery and mischief (under $5,000) and a 17-year-old boy and a 16 year-old girl – both from Oshawa – were charged with robbery.
All parties were released on a promise to appear.
